Stopping suddenly on your own can be miserable — and for alcohol and benzodiazepines, dangerous. Detox at RIONH means your withdrawal is managed by physicians and nurses, hour by hour, so it's as safe and comfortable as medicine can make it.
Within hours of arrival you'll be assessed by our medical team, settled into your room, and started on an individualized withdrawal protocol. Nurses check vitals and symptoms around the clock using standardized scales, and physicians adjust medications daily — comfort medications for sleep, nausea, and anxiety, and where appropriate, buprenorphine for opioid withdrawal or a managed taper for alcohol and benzodiazepines.
Detox is also where treatment planning begins. Before your last day, you and a clinician will have mapped exactly what comes next — usually residential care, sometimes PHP — so there's no gap for old habits to fill.
Medical assessment, first medications, and a lot of rest. Nurses check on you around the clock; symptoms peak and are treated as they come.
The fog lifts. You'll start eating and sleeping again, meet your counselor, and — when you're ready — join a first gentle group.
Medications taper down, energy comes back, and your next-step plan is locked in. Most clients walk straight into our residential program.
Call now — if a bed is available, you could be under medical care tonight.
